@BlackTar,

I think the Xbox crowd is just happy to play games. They do not have to sell the most and they do not have to be exclusive to be good. Right now the spotlight is on the new console launching in November along with the latest Forza Motorsports, Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves on the first party side and of course all the multiplatforms that hit both consoles. As far as indies go, I really do not think the focus of either console should be indies in the first place. They seem to be great filler for both PS+ and Xbox Live GwG, but if the biggest thing you are looking forward to on either platform is indies you are probably in the minority any way.

As for "indiestation", Sony definitely shifted Plus to be filled with indies, but I think far less people buy the games than some pretend. For the most part they are shovelware with some exceptions. Indies were bigger on the Xbox 360 and almost non-existent on PS3. Last gen Playstation gamers scoffed at the idea of XNA. This gen they pretend Sony invented the idea of indies. It seems like nothing is important until Sony does it for some. Power and native resolution was all the rage from 2013-2016 (R.I.P.), now that Sony does not have the most powerful console it's no longer important.

My "favorite" console is probably the Dreamcast. My most used console for the past 2 generations has been an Xbox mainly because I play with friends on Live. I still enjoy my PS3 and PS4 as well as PS1 and PS2 games. I just do not pretend it's the only console worth owning. The console I play on with the family most is the WiiU. PC is where I am shifting towards the most right now. I did not want to wait for Scorpio to start playing in 4K so I built a new one. It's pretty bas ass.
